Last wednesday, Bush said  Rumsfeld should stay with him until the end of his presidency.

Earlier today, Fox news reported a rummy spokesperson saying he had no plans to resign.

I guess he must have slipped, or something, cause he just did. What.. did he trip and accidentally write and deliver a resignation letter while grabbing for his desk to steady himself?

I suppose I shouldn't be terribly surprised at this story about deceptive calls in the VA election. All that's left to wonder is, is this desperation, or business as usual? I hope it's the former, but either way, I hope they hang them by their rude bits and let the crows at 'em.

One of the big reasons I left the US was, well, I was running away from Republicanism. A couple of years away, and the perspective that distance brings, made me realise that it was a blip. 40 years of liberalism had preceded this conservative bump in the road, and frankly, all we had to do was give them enough rope and they'd hang themselves, and things would get back on track.

I'm hoping, today, that the rope will be long enough.
